Set up SayWire

  1. Install SayWire on your iPhone from the App Store. The Apple Watch app installs with it.
  2. Download and open the Mac app.
  3. On the Mac, click Pair iPhone and Watch. Scan the code with SayWire on your iPhone. Your Watch pairs automatically.
  4. Say "Send with SayWire" on your Watch, or type or dictate in the iPhone app, and the text appears on your Mac.

Troubleshooting

Text does not arrive on café, hotel or guest Wi-Fi

Many public networks stop devices from seeing each other, with or without a password. SayWire then uses its encrypted cloud relay. Check that Send using is set to Automatic or Cloud only, and that Cloud backup is on in the Mac app.

Pasting into the active app does not work

macOS needs Accessibility permission. Open System Settings, Privacy and Security, Accessibility and turn on SayWire. If it is already on but not working, remove SayWire from the list with the minus button and add it again.

The Watch app keeps going back to the watch face

By default Apple Watch returns to the clock after 2 minutes. On your Watch, open Settings, General, Return to Clock, SayWire and choose After 1 hour.

Siri does not recognise "Send with SayWire"

Siri on Apple Watch needs the exact phrase. Turn on Raise to Speak in Settings, Siri, open SayWire once after installing, and say the phrase clearly. "SayWire send" works too.

The connection check shows orange

The iPhone and Mac apps show which routes can reach your Mac right now. Orange on Local Wi-Fi usually means the network isolates devices. As long as Cloud is green, your text still arrives.

Do I need a Mac?

SayWire is made to send text to a Mac, and the Mac app is free. Without one, you can still dictate and keep notes on your iPhone, then copy, share or export them.

What does it cost?

SayWire is free to download with a 14-day trial. After that, SayWire Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks sending from iPhone, Apple Watch and Siri. Your notes keep working without it. See the terms.

How do I restore my purchase?

On iPhone, open Settings, SayWire Pro, Restore purchase. Your Watch picks it up automatically.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I got a new Mac, or someone else scanned my code

Click Reset pairing in the Mac app. It makes a new code and old devices stop working. Scan the new code with your iPhone.

Can you read my dictation?

No. Text is end-to-end encrypted with a key only your devices hold. See the privacy policy.
